Story Books
About Our Literacy Interactive - Guided Reader Books

Our Literacy Interactive - Guided Reader Books program consists of fully animated stories to include voices. Each book is available in English and Spanish for ESL students. In English the stories come with a complete phonemic and syllabic breakdown of every word in the story enabling each child to decode the written text working alone or in small classroom groups. The ESL version of the story translates each word by simply clicking on that word.

A professional team of educators developed these books. The stories are designed to help early learners develop their reading and comprehension skills through a balanced and progressive reading program. The program is comprised of carefully leveled books, which gradually develop a child's reading skills in a sequential and enjoyable manner. Instructions on how to play books can be read by clicking the link below. Please take five minutes to read these instructions. You'll gain mastery of the books in just five minutes or less.

To Play Books In English:

Reading our books is as simple as the "click of a mouse."
  1. Click on the book you’d like to read with your child.
  2. Click top button on left to read "English."
  3. The 2nd Button says, "Motion." Here you have the option to have the story read with or without animation (motion). The motion option engages the child more thoroughly. When the word "Motion" appears in bold, you have engaged the animation.
  4. The 3rd button says, "Voice." Here you have the option to have the story read with or without voice. Once again, the voice option engages the child more thoroughly. When the word "Voice" appears in bold, you have engaged the voice option.
  5. The 4th button (About) is where you are now. This is non-Functioning Button.
  6. The 5th button (Exit) has been replaced by "GO BACK" at top. This is non-Functioning Button.
  7. Click on "Read" button under center of illustration to play book.
  8. The first sentence of the story will play. If you scroll over a word in the sentence and click on a word, a tab will pop up with the complete phonemic and syllabic breakdown of the word.
  9. You will see 1 button above the sentence window on left that says, "Start." (This takes you back to the beginning of the book.) There are three buttons on the right; 1.) English – Click to go to Espanol, scroll across word and the English word will be heard in Spanish. 2.) Voice – allows you to hear the book read or not. (When in Espanol button mode, words will still be heard translated into Spanish.) 3.) Repeat button allows you to repeat the sentence.
To Play Books For ESL Students:
  1. Click on the book you’d like to read with your child.
  2. Click top button on left to read "Espanol."
  3. Follow the same steps as above.
